As if AI ruining your feed weren't enough, the companies behind your favorite chatbots are gobbling up the world's memory supply. As a result, smartphones, both new and old, have become expensive. If that has derailed your purchase plans for the year, Metro by T-Mobile has you covered.

Bet you've always wanted to smell like plastic and glue

You may not be able to buy a new phone, but who says you can't feel like you bought one? Fake it till you make it and all...

As global tensions and corporate greed price gadgets out of reach, Metro by T-Mobile has stepped in to remind us that none of that matters as long as you are delusional enough.

The company has launched a new fragrance called CALLoGNE to let you smell like a factory-fresh smartphone all day long.

As you'd expect the response to such a thoughtful product to be, people all over the internet are losing their minds. They simply can't wait to catch a whiff.

Fittingly housed in a purple, feature phone-shaped bottle, the Eau de New Phone is a unisex scent. It has already received various accolades, so it's bound to sell out the moment it's released.

Unreal

Never in my adult years have I paid attention to what a smartphone smells like. The joke is on me, though. Metro by T-Mobile not only paid attention but commercialized it. There goes another missed business opportunity.

People who were lucky enough to spritz it on themselves can't quite describe how it smells, but apparently, it smells rich. If that's your vibe, you should definitely go for it. I thought it would smell more like 5G signals, but that's just me.

How would you feel about a phone-like fragrance?

Some things can't be faked

First rule of bean club life: if something sounds too good to be true, it's probably an April Fools' prank. Metro by T-Mobile admits they couldn't actually bottle the scent of a new phone, but the good news is that they have an array of deals on actual, affordable handsets to give you that new-phone feeling for real.

Plus, there are no activation fees, no hidden charges, and the rates are tax-inclusive.

Honestly, it's a bit of a letdown. I had my outfit picked out and my hair done. I was waiting to bathe myself in new phone scent to radiate that glass and aluminum energy and have everyone ask me, "Hey, are you Anam, or are you the new Galaxy S26 Ultra?"

Now I have to go back to smelling like flowers and fruits.
