Apple's newest iOS 9 introduces automatic alerts for the traffic ahead whenever you get into the car, showing you what's the constipation between your whereabouts and your home, for instance, as part of Apple's proactive assistant efforts.
Thus, frequent drivers using Apple Maps in iOS 9 will be able to take advantage of explicit traffic and construction warnings, including voice turn-by-turn navigation guides for alternate routes, should you wish to take those. Siri also chips in every now and then with warnings about roadwork, gridlocks and the like.

If you don't want to receive these push traffic condition warnings by Apple, though, you can turn them off, with the switch buried deep enough in the settings app to warrant its own how-do-I-turn-those-off guide. Here's what you need to do:
1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services on your iPhone or iPad;
2. Scroll down and tap on System Services, then you will see the Frequent Locations entry turned on by default;
3. Switch off Frequent Locations, and, if you are feeling grumpy, you can turn off Location-based alerts, too, while you are at it.
