BlackBerry is more often than not among the first companies to provide its users with the latest security updates released by Google. This month is no exception, as the Canadian company is now kicking off the rollout of December security patch for the
BlackBerry Priv.
After
Samsung announced that the Galaxy S7 edge devices are now eligible for the December security update, BlackBerry is following up with its own take on the security patch.
However, the update is only available to those who take part in the
BlackBerry Beta Zone OS update, which means that the Canadian company still has to make some small adjustments.
On top of that, only
AT&T customers are seeing the update for the moment. If you meet both requirements then you should look for a software update with build number AAI020.
If everything goes well, we expect BlackBerry to start the global rollout of the December security update in the next couple of days. Obviously, the exact timing may vary by country and carrier.
It's unclear whether or not the update brings some other changes aside from the addition of the December security patch, but we will probably know more once AT&T or other carrier publishes the official changelog.
